Time is running fast + freebie

Time is really running fast, my last post is dated 19th October, gosh!

I'm trying to keep up with all my goals but it's really hard... days are running away without me noticing it. I posted several layouts over at Hummie's World as I'm taking part in the scrapping goal challenges. I was late in my goals and still I am, and actually I am working on the number 10. I have to do a layout based on pink colors, not my favorite actually. My world is made up of men, so I do not have many pictures suitable for a pink layout... Sometimes I regret missing a baby girl in my life...

My mother in law wrote this prayer for my son and he repeats it every evening before going to sleep. Now she is ill and sadly does not even recognize him. This layout and our prayers are for her.

I translated roughly the prayer :

Dear Jesus child

Be close to me,Stretch out your hand Let me be healthy

Dad and Mom always protect,watch over my little house from heaven above

Make me gentle, docile and nice.

give me the forgiveness of my whims

morning and evening please fulfill my prayer

Dear Jesus child I give you the key to my heart,

Open and close at your pleasure, 

let me accomplish Your Holy will.

and finally today I have a freebie to share with you, I created this little freebie bow as an experiment and my mother helped me with suggestions on shadows and highlights as she is a very talented painter (not a computer woman sadly). I hope you like it. You can download this freebie  here. I thought  that with Christmas nearing bows are likely more used in festive layouts. Freebies

The contest over at Sas is over so now I am free to share the links to my kits directly from the blog. The contest was not a great success for me in terms of votes received, but a huge success for number of downloads and skill learned. I hoped to find a place to sell at, but it all remained a beautiful desire.... I am still learning and who knows maybe things will change. A thing I did not like at all during the contest was the importance of popularity, more popularity more votes... or maybe just more relatives voting for you.... But above all I hated begging for votes. I thought it was more based on talent or beauty of kits. Someone else complained about it and the answer this lady got was that popularity  is part of the marketing job of a designer. Oh yes it may be true but as I am gonna spend real money on buying kit I would surely buy the most appealing kit according to my taste and not the most popular... Another thing I notice was disregarding the rules... The first round was a sort of general testing ground    but in the second round any infringement would have led to exclusion from the contest itself. This is what it was written. But it was not applied, so if you downloaded the kit of the second round just check them out. I did it. Stroke the elements with an outline and you will notice quite a lot of stray pixels. Stray pixels were not allowed .... I am really disappointed about this as I would have expected a little bit more reliability... I pm the site about it but they did not bother to answer. Well it does not really matter I just got the measure of it.

Now on to the fun part. My first round mini kit was Nature Masquerade:

Sas Contest Round 2- freebie

Hi you all,

I finally finished my entry for the second round of the Sas Designer Contest. I created a mini kit called " A deeper kind of friendship". This is the second title I came up with, the first was far to long to be remembered, so I shortened it. The original title was : My angel my Love, a deeper kind of friendship, this first title explained perhaps better the choice to include the little angel in the kit, as I consider my guardian angel as my best friend. But as I said it was too long so I decided to use only the second part, as any best friend can be considered an angel too. So I am in the theme that was requested. Oops I forgot to mention that the theme was : BEST FRIENDS.

We were given a color, a deep pink (ba3175), and starting from it we had to develop a palette and creating a matching kit, with  8 paper background and 12 elements.

My palette is shown in the kit preview and included in the zip-files. Here are the previews:

New Nature Masquerade freebie!!

Here is the preview of my last add on to my mini called Nature Masquerade,as I am taking part in the contest too.  It made up of 4 additional papers , a frame slightly different from the main green one and a flower. I hope you will like it, I added another frame as I got fantastic comment on the green one contained in the mini kit. This one is similar and of a light blue color.

I really worked hard during the last few days and today the first round of the SAS Designer Contest will be over.

Working...... in front of my PC actually, and this is not considered work at my place, just my devouring passion. In any case I spent lots of time sitting on my favorite armchair looking straight in front of me with a concentrate look, I'm definitely a night owl. You know that strange kind of feeling you have ... thinking :" oh my Lord, why does the day have only 24 ours?.... Why don't hire a colf?...   Do you really need to eat 3 times a day?....  Who cares if the apartment is a mess and there seems to have been a bomb blow off? "

Tell me , I'm alone in this crazy thinking or there's someone else ?

I went to bed early in the morning in the last 3 days, around 4 am , and really I don't understand how do I always come to terms with things at the last minute..... But I did it in the end. So as I said the first round is over and I finished my mini- kit.

Is called Nature Masquerade. I found inspiration in nature both real and imitated. For the backgrounds I mostly used pieces of personal nature shots of leaves and such to create a pattern, and turn it upside down and rotate it, until I found a pleasant look. I designed a flower branch using a biedermeir seed flower i crafted last year for Christmas presents, stamped around. The same flower became a shape I used over and over to grate gauze flowers of various types. A reason of pride for me is the torn and curled paper i realized all on my own for the first time.

I must admit I learned a lot during these past few days, it was fun... I hope I'll go through the 1 round, even if I shall not, I'll be happy any way.
